Dr. Lefort is a developmental neurobiologist with a long interest in FD. Her basic science laboratory is dedicated to better understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of FD. Over the years, she has made a number of important discoveries that have helped us better grasp why nerves fail to develop and die over time in FD. Dr. Lefcort actively collaborates with the Dysautonomia Center at NYU. She will talk about the importance of this basic science work in developing and testing new treatments for FD.
